What a weekend! We hosted back-to-back orientations (Saturday & Sunday) to bring our first group of Mpls Cargo Bike Library (MCBL) members on board. Twenty Minneapolis residents joined us for trainings this weekend to go over important bicyclist education topics. We covered:
- MN Bicycling Handbook
- EBike Basics
- How to book a bike and logistics for our process
- What’s in our waiver
These resources (and more!) have been added to a new ‘Education’ section on our site. Check it out and let us know if there are resources you think we should highlight for others.

On Tuesday, April 1st (just in time for #30daysofbiking) our booking platform will open to those who have completed an orientation. You can check out our current bikes here.
Our remaining orientations (April 12th & May 20th) are both sold out. If you want to be added to the wait list for either date, please contact us.
We are SO excited to see the interest in this community program and are working to determine if we can secure funding to expand in the future to better meet the demand we’re seeing so far.
If you want to support our work, consider:
- Donating to our program
- Subscribing to our newsletter (bottom right corner of our website)
- Sharing your excitement about our program on social media (we’re on Bluesky, but of course you can post on whatever platforms you use!)
- Contacting us with any funding or collaboration opportunities you see
Huge thanks to our partners BikeMN, the Lyndale Neighborhood Association, Cyclehoop & the MetCouncil for helping make this idea a reality and thank you to all of YOU for joining us in this pilot year. We are eager to learn from this first iteration and want to incorporate your ideas, feedback and suggestions to make it better as we go.
